With a view to simplifying its procedures and promoting digital transformation, the EPO is introducing several measures on 1 November 2024 regarding the signing and filing of authorisations to act before the EPO. These measures will also apply to authorisations filed in procedures relating to European patents with unitary effect. These new rules are contained in two decisions of the President of the EPO published in the OJ of August 2024. The decisions are accompanied by a notice providing a summary of the new rules.
