The UPC informs about the changes to the judicial appointments:
Following the communication dating 19 October 2022 on judicial appointments (available here), the changes below are to be signaled as regards to the list of appointed judges of the Unified Patent Court :
Following a targeted recruitment call, three legally qualified judges have taken up their duties, as from the entry into force of the UPC Agreement on 1 June 2023:
– Mr Peter Agergaard (DK) has been appointed to the local division Copenhagen;
– Mr András Kupecz (NL) has been appointed as LQJ to the central division Munich section (no longer having the function of TQJ);
– Mr François Thomas (FR) has been appointed to the central division Paris seat.
Prior to the start of operations of the Court, three technically qualified judges have resigned (resignations received prior to 31 May 2023):
– Mr Roman Maksymiw (DE);
– Mr Grégoire Desrousseaux (FR);
– Ms Kirsikka Etuaho (FI).
