Sisvel International S.A. v. Oppo cs and Wiko cs, District Court The Hague, The Netherlands, 27 May 2020, Case no. ECLI:NL:RBDHA:2020:4632
Sisvel exploits various patent rights in the field of wireless communication and also holds EP 1 129 536 relating to ‘Data transmission in radio system’. EP 536 is a standard essential patent applied in the EGPRS (Enhanced General Packet Radio Service) extension of the 2G-GSM standard.
Sisvel alleged that Wiko and Oppo infringed EP 536 and requested an injunction, including additional measures (damages). The Court decides that EP ‘536 is invalid and denies the injunction.
