Accord Healthcare, S.L.U. & Sandoz Farmacéutica, S.A. v. AstraZeneca AB, Supreme Court (Civil Chamber, 1st Section), Spain, 20 May 2016, Docket No. 74/2014

The Spanish Supreme Court recently confirmed the invalidity of AstraZeneca’s patent on a sustained released formulation of Quetiapine in its Judgment of 20 May 2016, endorsing the previous findings of the Court of Appeals of Barcelona, which had declared the said patent null for lack of inventive step.
