The Boards of Appeal (BoA) are delighted to announce the publication of the 2026 revision of the 11th edition of the Case Law of the Boards of Appeal of the EPO, also known as the “Case Law Book” (CLB).
“Following the publication of the 11th edition of the Case Law Book in July 2025, the main focus of the 2026 revision is the inclusion of recent decisions of the Enlarged Board of Appeal and their application in subsequent BoA decisions. The revisions incorporate BoA decisions published up to 31 December 2025, with the additional inclusion of T 439/22 of 11 December 2025, the final decision in referral case G 1/24.
“Interim updates of selected chapters of the CLB allow users to stay up to date with evolving BoA case law between full editions of the publication. Available in all three of the EPO’s official languages, the 2026 revision of the CLB 11th edition includes updates to the following chapters:
