Women in EPLAW: A discussion with women judges will take place on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm CET
It will explore:
– Career paths; including advice for anyone who might be interested in becoming a judge
– Experience of co-operation between judges (within national courts and within UPC) – how to ensure harmonisation?
– Observations/ advice on successfully running a case – what works best / what doesn’t (including advocacy).
The speakers for this webinar will be:
– Elisabetta Papa (IT) – Technically qualified judge in the UPC, European patent attorney and Head of Patents at Società Italiana Brevetti
– Kai Härmand (EE) – Legally qualified judge of the Nordic Baltic Regional Division, judge at Harju County Court (First Instance)
– Charlotte May KC (UK) – Deputy Judge of the UK Patents Court, barrister at 8 New Square
– Katalin Tözsér (DE), judge of the Munich I Regional Court
The discussion will be moderated by Julia Ericsson (SE).
The Women in EPLAW webinar is primarily aimed at women in EPLAW but also at women in the Young EPLAW community (although other members of EPLAW and other members of the young EPLAW community are also welcome to join). The Young EPLAW community consists of associate lawyers of EPLAW members who are on track to become future EPLAW members.
